Jon M. Balsamo, National Manager of Industrial Hygiene Services at PM Environmental (PM) was recently awarded the Southeastern Michigan Society for Healthcare Engineering (SMSHE) President’s Award for outstanding dedication and service to the organization.

Balsamo has been a member of SMSHE since 2012 and serves on the organization’s Board as a Director. He is also Chair of SMSHE’s Events and Education Committee. “It is a great honor to receive this award,” said Balsamo. “I enjoy working with the members of the Board as the Chair of the Events Committee and assisting other committees. Our primary focus is to provide education to our members, and I take great pride in planning our educational meetings and presentations, as well as planning or assisting on our more fun events like the golf outing, holiday luncheon, annual meeting and Vegas Night.

SMSHE’s President’s Award is selected by the organization’s President with recommendations made by other members of the Board.

“Jon has been a constant supporter of SMSHE and its members for many years and is well-deserving of this award,” said SMSHE President, Jack Evans in the SMSHE winter newsletter.

Balsamo, who started his career in 1996, specializes in asbestos and lead project management associated with construction and demolition projects. He oversees PM’s team of asbestos, lead and hazardous materials professionals.
