PM Environmental continues to grow and strengthen its Brownfield and Economic Incentive team, and recently hired Corey Levin as Brownfield and Economic Incentives Staff Consultant.
Located in Berkley, Mich., Levin will prepare and analyze financing incentive opportunities for brownfield development projects in Michigan, provide project management and oversight, and write and manage federal and State of Michigan applications, contracts, and programs.
“I am excited to engage in work that I am passionate about and grow alongside the PM Brownfield and Economic Incentive Team,” said Levin. “I am looking forward to learning from and working with the experts at PM, and to work with clients that are undertaking interesting projects.”
Levin obtained a B.A. in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Illinois and a J.D., with certificates in Business Law and Environmental and Energy Law, from Chicago-Kent College of Law in Chicago, Ill. He is licensed to practice law in Michigan and Illinois.
During law school, Levin was the recipient of the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for Environmental Policy and Complex Business Transactions. CALI Awards are given to the highest scoring student in law schools throughout the country.
Levin gained both public and private sector counseling experience in the Chicago area. “During law school, I had the opportunity to counsel municipalities in the Chicago area and became familiar with public finance and the effect of incentives on development,” said Levin. “Urban revitalization, redevelopment, and the environment have been interests of mine since I began to study planning. One of my goals upon entering law school was to continue to learn about and research the interplay between the environment and land use trends from a legal perspective.”
Over the years, he worked in the legal field in Chicago as a Law Clerk at Holland & Knight, Legal Affairs Associate at Merieux NutriSciences Corporation, and Real Estate and Taxation Law Clerk at Newline Financial.
Levin recently moved to Detroit, Mich., and is excited about the revitalization occurring in the City, and how PM Environmental is playing an important role in its redevelopment.
“The redevelopment work going on in Detroit is unique, and the PM Brownfield and Economic Incentive Team plays an integral role in facilitating Detroit development as well as all over the country,” said Levin. “PM Environmental will give me a great opportunity to work on a diverse set of projects while utilizing my environmental law and urban planning skillset.”
Levin will enhance PM’s team of experts who have in-depth experience in managing environmental projects, building facilities and energy projects with a constant focus on helping our clients clearly understand their risks, allowing them to make sound, well-informed business decisions.
