PM Environmental Wins State of Michigan Contract

PM Environmental was awarded an Indefinite-Scope, Indefinite-Delivery contract by the State of Michigan (2019 Environmental ISID).  The three-year contract, with an option to extend for one additional year, focuses on site remediation where there is no longer a viable responsible party to conduct cleanup activities required under state law.

The contract was broken down into several regions that match the footprint of each of the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) district office locations.  PM was selected for all districts, including Michigan’s scenic Upper Peninsula.

The services provided under the contract include: vapor intrusion site investigation and mitigation, underground storage tank removal, soil excavation and sampling, monitoring well installation and sampling, remediation system design, Brownfield development, and Per-& Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) sampling.

“Professional Services for PFAS sampling and associated site characterization is a new project type added to the 2019 Environmental ISID contract that was not included in the previous environmental contract,” said Casey Armstrong, Regional Manager – Contract Services at PM Environmental.  “Due to the ‘emerging contaminant’ status, many professionals/contractors were not approved for the PFAS investigation component of the 2019 contract.  However, based upon PM’s experience characterizing PFAS impact in various media and our projects treating PFAS impact in wastewater prior to discharge to city sanitary sewers, PM was a selected consultant for the PFAS services.”
