Radon Testing

Radon is a colorless, odorless, tasteless and invisible gas produced by the decay of naturally occurring uranium in soil and water. It is usually found in igneous rock and soil, but in some cases it can be found in well water. Radon typically moves up through the ground to the air above and into homes and buildings through cracks and other holes in the foundation. The structure can trap Radon inside, where it can build up. Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States.

Although high concentrations of Radon in groundwater may contribute to radon exposure through ingestion, the inhalation of radon released from water is usually more important.

PM Environmental is an expert in radon testing, with a team of Radon Professionals certified by the National Radon Proficiency Program (NRPP) and the National Radon Safety Board (NRSB). Radon testing at the time of a real estate transaction or in larger multi-unit apartment buildings must be completed by qualified, certified providers. Our team is experienced in comprehensive inspections and preparing bid specifications, removal scopes of work and remediation work plans, as well as providing oversight and air monitoring throughout the duration of a project. We also conduct radon testing to meet state-specific HUD requirements.
